Each route comes with an estimated duration, incorporating base travel times per station (2 minutes) and transfer penalties (5 minutes), plus a subtle real-time variation to mimic actual conditions.
The app boasts a visually stunning, interactive map rendered in SwiftUI, plotting all stations using normalized geographic coordinates for accuracy. Lines are color-coded—red for North-South, green for East-West, blue for Downtown, purple for North-East, yellow for Circle, brown for Thomson-East Coast, and gray for LRTs—making it easy to trace paths. Highlighted routes appear in bold black for clarity, and users can zoom/pan via ScrollView for detailed views.
Location awareness is a standout feature: Using CoreLocation, the app detects your position and lists the five nearest stations, complete with line details and colors. This is perfect for on-the-go decisions, like finding the closest MRT stop while wandering Orchard Road.
Data integrity is ensured with a comprehensive station database covering all MRT lines (North-South, East-West, Downtown, North-East, Circle, Thomson-East Coast) and full LRT networks (Sengkang East/West Loops, Punggol East/West Loops). Each station includes name, coordinates, line, next/previous stations, and transfers, enabling seamless navigation even on circular or branched lines.
